| This is not a book about evangelizing in the workplace. This is
a book about understanding how your Christian faith is relevant to the
events and circumstances you encounter on the job. The modern workplace is a stressful, brutally competitive, and often unfulfilling place. But it doesn't have to be that way. Frequently, much of the stress and disappointment is simply a function of viewing our work through the wrong lens. If you understand how the tenets of faith apply to your work you will experience less stress, find more fulfillment in your work, and perform better. Most importantly, you will be living your faith 24/7. You won't have to leave your faith at home. Your life will no longer be compartmentalized. There will be alignment between what you believe and what you do for a living. |

It's all right to achieve. The key is to achieve the right
things. The most rewarding accomplishments are those that are
measured against internal yardsticks of achievement. Your job title, your office, and even your income are all external to who you really are. In the end, you have less control over them than you think. They can all be taken away. In fact, one day, when your time here is over, they most definitely will be. Besides, we always know our own worth. No matter what message our external achievements telegraph to others, we know who we really are and what we're really worth. Which is exactly why external achievements have never brought anyone happiness and fulfillment. I know. |
